Q: I signed up to volunteer and it’s my first time - how do I know where to go, how do I know what to do?
A: The sign up website has locations written for each shift, please check the slot you signed up for that information. When you arrive at your shift there will be an experienced Core Volunteer there to help you get acquainted. Also, shift areas have manuals available on site for volunteers to read - this is highly suggested and can answer many questions.
Q: I signed up to volunteer but I can’t make my shift, what should I do?
A: If it is more than 24 hours in advance, please go to the sign up website and delete your name from the slot. If it is less than 24 hours notice, delete your name from from the slot and also send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: I’m nervous about volunteering, are there certain shifts that are good for beginners?
A: Evening shelter shifts are great for beginners that want to engage with guests, for volunteers that are looking for a more hands off way to help, laundry day on Sunday is a great shift to sign up for
